I am a visual storyteller with a love for the fantastic. I began at 18 years old, working in the field of makeup FX on films like "Nightmare on Elm St 2" and "Robocop." I had the honor of working with the legendary makeup FX giant Rick Baker on "Coming to America," nominated for Best Makeup at the Academy Awards (1988). In 1992, I tackled the world of video games, creating the physical models for the level boss characters in "Doom," "Doom 2" and "Doom 64." And then? I saw Jurassic Park... From that moment on, I knew that CG and visual FX were my future. I was hired at Janimation and had the pleasure to work with some of the absolute best and most prominent clients in advertising, games, and film. I acted as the Senior Creative Director and oversaw most of the production. I was lucky enough to be able to direct a large number of the projects that came through the company, both animated and live action. After 21 amazing years at Janimation, I decided it was time to return to my roots of making monsters. I signed on as CG Supervisor for Aaron Sims Creative in October 2016 and worked there until February of 2019. While I was there, I had the opportunity to wear many hats from supervising projects to getting into the trenches in all aspects of production from design, modeling, rigging, texturing and compositing. ASC leaned on me for some very high-end facial modeling, texturing and rigging. My unique and diverse skill set developed from my time in makeup effects, a stint at a wax museum and my previous work developing techniques for game cinematic humans made me an ideal candidate for this kind of work. Another thing I was able to help push was the use of digital prosthetics, using a mix of techniques I had used on the multitude of talking animal jobs I did in commercials over the years and modern rendering tech we were able to do some exciting things. I am currently looking for opportunities in the LA area, and remote work is always welcome.
