Derek Plaza

Derek Cristopher Plaza, born in Chicago, Illinois, had a gypsy upbringing, moving around the country with his ex-military family. Began acting in theater (Texas) at age 5. Continued in his teens (Oregon) with modeling, commercials, dance and voice work. Went to Spain (Madrid) at 16. Dropped out of high school upon return to the U.S. Began writing songs and playing guitar while touring on motorcycle following The Grateful Dead. Fished in Alaska for three tours. Moved to Nevada and worked construction. Returned to Spain (Granada) and won a spot in the "Asparago Rock!" festival. (1996) Moved to Los Angeles. 5 years as Production Assistant on Sony/Fox TV shows. (2007) Currently acting and writing lyrics/music for artists, film, commercials, television.
