Marianne Ostrat established Alexandra Film in 2006 during her MA studies at Baltic Film and Media School. Her first fiction feature "The End of the Chain" by Priit Pääsuke premiered at the Karlovy Vary IFF in 2017 and garnered 4 nominations at Estonian Film & TV Awards (EFTA). She co-produced a Spanish-Estonian feature documentary "Constructing Albert" (2017, San Sebastian, HotDocs, SXSW) and a Swedish-Estonian animated short "Amalimbo" (2016, Venice IFF, European Film Award Nominee). In 2021 Marianne released her second fiction feature - a youth comedy "Kids of the Night" by Priit Pääsuke - nominee of 7 and winner of 3 EFTA awards. Marianne is a Sundance Institute Documentary Program grantee with her upcoming feature documentary Smoke Sauna Sisterhood by Anna Hints. Her upcoming short drama "Jungle Law" by Madli Lääne was presented at Cannes Court Métrage Focus WIP in 2022. Since 2018 Marianne teaches producing at an international MA program KinoEyes The European Film Masters. She has served in the board of Estonian Film Industry Cluster and is a member of EAVE network.
