Joe Bowen has served as the voice of the Maple Leafs since 1982. The Sudbury, Ontario native began his radio career with an eight-year stint calling games for the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League for and a three-year tenure with the former Montreal Canadiens' American Hockey League affiliate, the Nova Scotia Voyageurs. Bowen was also behind the mic for several seasons with the National Lacrosse League's Toronto Rock. Bowen, who called his 3000th Maple Leafs game in 2017, was recognized with the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for outstanding contributions as a hockey broadcaster in 2018 and was honoured with the George Gross Award as Sports Media Canada's broadcaster of the year in 2013.
