Biography

Monica Lawson is a New York trained actress having received a BFA in theatre from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. After graduation, Monica focused her career on theater having performed with renowned companies such as The Classical Theater of Harlem, The Flea Theater, under Artistic Director Jim Simpson, and The Bank Street Theater. Monica worked as a voiceover artist for brands including Home Depot and MTV, and developed a love of comedy having studied sketch at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. Taking up comedy was a great balance to her theatre experience and training. With her comedic writing skills, Monica helped co-found an improv comedy group that performed both sketch and improv in venues throughout New York City. With her experience in theatre, voiceover, and comedy, Monica came to Los Angeles to further pursue film and television.
